3BarBio Names Chris Koenig President to Lead Next Phase of Growth

Appointment advances crop biological supply chain partner’s evolution in high-demand crop input sector

COLUMBUS, Ohio (August 13, 2026) — 3BarBio (3Bar) today announced the appointment of Chris Koenig as President, positioning the company for its next phase of growth as the leading manufacturing and supply chain partner for crop biological product companies.

Koenig will lead day-to-day operations and execution of 3Bar’s growth strategy, with a focus on manufacturing expansion, customer success, operational excellence and supply chain innovation. 3BarBio is the nation’s first biological contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) focused specifically on agriculture.

Advancing 3Bar’s evolving role in the biologicals supply chain

Founder Bruce Caldwell has helped pioneer technologies that have advanced the biologicals industry and established 3Bar as a trusted partner for product development and commercialization. He’s led 3Bar’s evolution from a technology development company into an integrated manufacturing and commercialization platform that enables biological product manufacturers to deliver viable, effective products to the marketplace.

“When we started 3Bar, our goal was to help unlock the potential of biological technologies,” said Caldwell, who will continue as a 3Bar senior advisor and board member. “We have built a strong foundation that now allows us to make an even greater impact by helping customers design, develop, and deliver products at commercial scale. I’m excited about this next chapter and confident that Chris is the right leader to guide the company forward.”

Why 3Bar’s platform is so important today

Koenig’s appointment comes as 3Bar continues to expand its manufacturing capabilities to meet growing customer demand. The company’s platform includes dry and liquid blending, packaging and filling, sourcing and fulfillment, and a 70-printer additive manufacturing operation producing specialized product-delivery devices and components.

“This appointment comes as part of a succession plan process that allows Bruce Caldwell to move to the long-planned next phase of his life,” said Parker MacDonell, chair of the 3Bar board. “Chris has been essential to the growth and strategy of 3Bar, and he will take great care of our customers, employees and shareholders.”

Koenig’s new leadership role comes at a critical time in the crop biologicals sector. With the sector’s growth, the need has never been greater for the innovative service 3Bar provides biological manufacturers around the country.

“The biologicals industry needs more than great science. It needs smarter, more reliable ways to move products from concept to customer,” he said. “3Bar is uniquely positioned to bridge that gap through manufacturing expertise, supply chain innovation, and deep industry partnerships. We are building the infrastructure that enables biological products to reach commercial scale.”
