Bruce Caldwell

Mr. Caldwell brings 30 years of customer discovery and product innovation leadership from a career at ScottsMiracle-Gro and Procter & Gamble. As Senior VP of R&D at Scotts, he led a global organization and numerous external partnerships to create easy-to-use agricultural products including a line of biologics and seed coatings. Mr. Caldwell earned a BS ChE from Georgia Tech and a MBA from U. Cincinnati.

Jane Fife, PhD

Dr. Fife’s research focuses on improving formulation and delivery of biologics for more effective application of beneficial microbes to promote plant growth and biological disease control. Prior to joining 3Bar Biologics, she has more than 15 years of expertise in application technology and agricultural biologics through her leadership role managing technology development in agribusiness at Battelle Memorial Institute. Dr. Fife holds a PhD in Agricultural Engineering from The Ohio State University, where she currently serves as an Adjunct Faculty and teaches courses in engineering design.

Williams-Wagner, PhD

Becky Williams-Wagner joined 3BarBio in 2017 and has worked on many development projects for our partners, most recently the Azo Root product. She earned her BS in Molecular Biology from Otterbein University and a PhD in microbiology from The Ohio State University. During graduate school and as a post-doctoral researcher, she studied the physiology and gene regulatory mechanisms of the soil bacterium, Bacillus subtilis, to understand microbial responses to stress. In her free time, she enjoys knitting, spinning yarn, and weaving.

Chris Koenig

Chris Koenig has over a decade of business development and relationship building experience. He has consulted with 50+ startups and has launched strategic growth initiatives at corporate scale. He holds an MBA from Ohio State, an MFA from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, and a BA from Miami University. He is also the co-founder of the Ohiolina Music Festival.

Matt Sells

Matt Sells earned a degree in Food, Agricultural, and Biological Engineer from Ohio State University. He joined 3Bar in 2017 in the R&D lab before transitioning to operations and packaging engineering. He has worked on numerous patented packages and devices to enhance efficacy and adoption of biological products. In his free time, Matt is an avid hiker and has a goal to visit every US national park.

He’s currently at 36 out of 63.

A successful, seasoned entrepreneur with a 30+ year career. He has held several “C” level executive positions including President/CEO as well as COO and CFO. The bulk of his efforts have been with start-ups and early stage companies, where his expertise in capital access and company/product launches has been demonstrated.

Jessica Wilcox

Jessica Wilcox joined 3BarBio in 2018. With nearly 20 years of experience in the field of microbiology, interdisciplinary research, and team leadership, she manages the R&D laboratory as well as manufacturing and inventory of the AzoRoot product. Prior to joining 3BarBio, she spent 11 years at Battelle working in the field of microbiology, gaining experience in complex research, technical writing, and team management. Prior to Battelle, she performed microbiology food testing at Nestle Quality Assurance Center. Jessica earned a Bachelor of Science from The Ohio State University with a major in Microbiology and a minor in Business.

Kyle Moroney

Kyle Moroney has 6 years of experience in R&D laboratory operations, specializing in lyophilization research and assays evaluating microbial stability. He is skilled in mentoring and training new members of the lab. Kyle graduated from Ohio State in 2018 with a BA in Biology.

Daniela Pennini

Daniela Pennini holds the role of Manufacturing Team Leader at 3BarBio, leveraging her expertise as a Chemical Engineer from the National University of La Plata, Argentina. With experience across diverse manufacturing sectors, she specializes in continuous improvement, process engineering, and team supervision, consistently achieving production goals. Daniela is recognized for her proficiency in leading teams to success, as well as her contributions to implementing the 5S program for enhanced operational efficiency.

Evan Levis

Evan has attended Lorain County Community College and Bowling Green State University, earning an Associate’s degree of science and a Bachelor’s degree of environmental science and sustainable management. He has one year of experience in the field of environmental consulting and resource management. Evan joined 3Bar as a temporary manufacturing team member in January 2023, and has since risen to the position of Manufacturing Team Lead. In his free time, Evan enjoys hiking and camping, music, and video games.

Dakota Tombow

Dakota graduated from the Ohio State University with an MBA and Masters in Environment and Natural Resources. He joined 3BarBio in 2021 as a marketing intern where he now executes much of the back-end marketing operations, like creating this website.

In his free time, he also runs his own YouTube channel covering the series One Piece. He has two videos with over 1 Million views.
